Finally Feel Seen: A Different Approach to Mental Health Care

If you’ve ever felt dismissed, rushed, or reduced to a diagnosis- you’re not alone.

People come to us after feeling like their concerns weren’t fully understood, and are looking for a more thoughtful, integrative approach to mental health.

We work with individuals who feel frustrated by one-size-fits-all psychiatry and are seeking a deeper approach. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, or hormone-related mood changes, we focus on understanding you as a whole person, because you’re more than a diagnosis.

  • Many of our patients come to us after years of feeling:

    • Like their symptoms were minimized or not fully understood

    • Overmedicated without clear answers or lasting relief

    • Being prescribed medications without a clear, personalized plan

    • Told everything is “normal” when they know something is off

    • Unsupported in navigating hormones, fertility, pregnancy, or postpartum mental health

    • Wanting a more natural or integrative approach, but not knowing where to start

    • Feeling like no one is looking at the full picture

    • Disconnected from their body, purpose, or sense of well-being

If this resonates with you, you may find this approach to care to be a meaningful and refreshing change.

  • At Salt + Light Psychiatry, we take an integrative, whole-person approach to mental health.

We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all treatment or reducing you to a label. Instead, we look at you as a human being first! Rather than relying solely on diagnoses or standard algorithms, we explore the underlying contributors to your symptoms

When treating concerns like anxiety, depression, ADHD, or mood changes, we explore underlying factors such as:

    • Stress and nervous system dysregulation

    • Hormonal and reproductive health

    • Inflammation and nutrition

    • Sleep and circadian rhythm

    • Lifestyle and social connection

This allows us to create personalized treatment plans that may include medication when appropriate, along with nutrition, movement, lifestyle changes, and supportive therapy tools with the overarching goal in mind of creating a life worth living.

  • We have a special focus on reproductive psychiatry and understand the complex connection between hormones and mental health.

    We support women navigating:

    • PMS and PMDD

    • Fertility challenges

    • Preconception, pregnancy and postpartum mental health

    • Perimenopause and hormonal transitions

You deserve care that takes your symptoms seriously and understands the biological and emotional layers involved.

  • While we have a special focus on women’s mental health, we work with both women and men who are seeking a more integrative, personalized approach to psychiatry. This is a collaborative process, where your voice and experiences matter. Together, the goal is not just symptom relief, but cultivating a life worth living.

    Our patients are often:

    • Thoughtful and health-conscious

    • Interested in exploring treatment options beyond medication

    • Wanting to feel heard, understood, and involved in your treatment

    • Open to combining medical and lifestyle approaches

    • Looking for a collaborative, not rushed, experience

    • Seeking more than a quick or one-size-fits-all solution
